This obsession with Sam who had NP affection for pur club is obscene .
Particularly when the biggest and worst abuser of West Ham is honoured with free seats whenever he wants them and is the life president of our club.
And most don't even voice their disgust.some are complacent and others are obviously happy with it as it is.

The back 5 were all BFS's first choices so he deserves some credit for the foundations.

Bilic deserves all the praise for the 3rd place this season so far and as others have said, we were warned to beware what we wished for. How many kept pointing to what happened after BFS left Bolton, Newcastle and Blackburn.

I think the distance between performances under BFS and Slaven Bilic is so huge that it must have made BFS think deeply about why he was never loved by his fans at every club except maybe Bolton.

But BFS was in this position last season without AC & KN up to Christmas. BFS let it slide by his obstinacy and it remains to be seen how Bilic eventually handles any loss of form. Somehow I doubt it because we have 4 forwards fighting for one spot and Alex Song soon back. Fresh impetus never hurts....

Bumped from two weeks ago? He seems to be a bit of an obsession with some on here.

There is such a huge demand for his services isn't there?

He probably thinks he's the greatest footballer to come out of Dudley.

Whisper it, Duncan Edwards was slightly better than you, you fat bastard.

I thought all Sam's Teams get relegated when he lives/gets the push, does he get the credit for that, he certainly wouldn't accept any credit like he tries to big up himself over west ham.

Does Sam deserve credit for our battling away performances?
No

He does, however, deserve credit for getting us into a position where we're able to get a manager and players to be able to give battling performances against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and City.

He's gone. I wish this site would get over this obsession.

That depends whether you're talking about the first or second half of last season. Second half, Sam know he was off so couldn't be arsed. Bilic is really trying to build something and is very positive and intelligent about it, which all goes to show how much the manager's mentality matters.

It's not Sam's team how would you see anything?

Ok, so the only thing we can think of that Allardyce might have some influence on is defending at away games, which says something about him as a manager.
Also, I see NOTHING of Sam Allardyce in our away performances so far. It's a different world. Surely it's clear for all to see.

I can't understand why these Sam Allardyce threads keep popping up.

Most hated him but keep on about him.

He did great for us in my opinion (and the facts opinion) but we've moved on.

Enjoy the present and the future, I say.

Bilic for me was a gamble, one I didn't think was going to pay off at the start of the season.

I have been proved horribly wrong, I think I may have held a grudge over the way he left us as a player but I can't put into words how much I like him.

Loved him as a player, him signing along with Dani, Kitson & Hartson was the start of our yoyoing years ending for a while so I'm hoping Slaven's influence might kick us on to the next step.

Giving Allardyce no credit at all is like saying George Graham deserved no credit for Arsenal's solid defence in the early days under Wenger.

Sam's way:
"We start the game with a point, and we're going to try to hang on to it".

Slav's way:
"Those three points are OURS, pal! If you want ANY of them, you're gonna have to bust a gut and be right at the top of your game, cos you can be fackin sure WE will be".

Credit where it's due. Yes to some degree...

Sam is great at organizing teams defensively, and under him we had 3 great CB's performing better than I've seen in a long time (hopefully 4 now with Ogbonna).

After 4 years, I'd expect him to leave us much stronger in this area.
